The best advice is to stop pimples from forming before you can even see them.  Here are  good tips on how to do just that:

Prevent Pimples

Tip #1 : Wash your face twice a day

Wash your face twice a day with warm water and a gentle skin cleanser. You don’t need to use very hot water, or harsh scrubs, or wash your face more than twice a day. Treating your skin harshly will only make your skin mad, and this can mean making your pimples worse. Just remember, be gentle on your skin. You can’t scrub the acne away. If you wear makeup, remember to always cleanse it away at night. Sleeping with make-up on can definitely make acne worse.

Tip #2 : Be gentle to your skin

We can't stress this fact enough. Washing your face more often or being harsh to your skin won't help you get faster results. In fact, washing your face more than twice a day can irritate your skin and make your acne worse. Be gentle to your skin with gentle face washes and avoid harsh scrubs.

Tip #4 : Wash your hair regularly

Greasy hair that hangs out on your face can add more oil to your skin. We want to avoid this.

Tip #5 : Wash your pillowcases

Bacteria can hang out and grow on your pillow case if you don’t wash them frequently. Try to use a clean pillow-case at least once a week so you can limit the amount of bacteria that hangs out in your pores.

Tip #6 : Use a clean hand towel to dry your face

Use a clean hand towel for the same reason you want to change out your pillowcase regularly.  A damp towel is the perfect environment for acne causing bacteria to multiply.

Tip #7 : Look at ingredients of the skin products you're using on your face

Look at the skin care products you’re using on your face. Make sure it says “non-comedogenic” because this means it’s less likely to plug up your pores and make acne worse. If you wear makeup, it’s also a good idea to make sure it’s non-comedogenic as well.

Tip #8 : Keep hair products away from your face

Keep hair products away from your face. Hairspray, gels, and waxes contain some ingredients that can block your pores. A block pore is an unhappy pore and can lead to worsening pimples.
